Description

1958-1970 were times of great change in American Life. Living in a small tightknit community in east Tennessee was perfect for Jimmy Locklear. From his first days of first grade, Jimmy was all in when it came to school life. He loved the academic side, certainly the sports and social aspects of community, and he was open to new opportunities. Hixson was an unusual mix of suburban growth and rural safety that presented its residence with the best of both worlds. Why was Jimmy one of those who really soared in the school environment of this small community? His story of hope and gratitude has its ups and downs, but the insights offered in Schoolboy might just increase your own appreciation for the story that it is your life. From throwing textbooks through windows to campaigning for a study body office, Jimmy’s story will have you remembering your good ole days with a smile and perhaps a tear.

This book is very interesting especially for someone who grew up in Hixson, Tennessee. I purchased this for my daughters dad, he was raised there not far from one of the places mentioned in the book. I definitely recommend to anyone interested in it.
