As a frame of reference, this size jaw clip is about as long as a woman's thumb. I own several. France Luxe's prices may surprise, and their prices have gone up a bit like everything, but their line of hair accessories are really the best and last for years and years.It is unusual and so elegant! Not a large claw but it holds my hair very well.My hair is too thin and not even shoulder length - this claw was too large for me. I didn’t want to return it and gave it to my friend as a gift: she has thicker longer hair. She was thrilled! She carries it with her all the time and uses when needed. She said it her favorite pin! The fact it’s something made in France and not in China is a relief ?I’ve bought this clip two times. The first, from Nordstrom, lasted almost five years. When I had to replace it, I bought one from Amazon on May 14, 2021 - this year. The spring broke yesterday, December 11…not even seven months of use. I have thin hair which twists up fairly small and without much stress on the clip. It’s lovely but I’m quite disappointed that I have to replace it so soon.I've got long hair (mid back) and wear it up the majority of the time. France Luxe makes the best hair pieces for girls like me. The quality is something you have to experience for yourself. I remember once picking up one of their claws in a neighborhood boutique, "$25 for a hair clip?! That's insanity," I thought. I don't think I'd ever spent more than $5 on a hair piece. For some reason I kept coming back to it and thought what the heck. Ummm, wow. Not only has that jaw lasted me for years, it holds my hair better than any other piece I've owned, has outlived them all, and looks by far the best. So to me, you get what you pay for with France Luxe products, and they are definitely worth it.This particular South Sea color is gorgeous in person. It looks like abalone and I love it.The France Luxe Couture Jaw hair clamp came apart shortly after I had purchased it. It had been replaced. I love this hair clip, but the spring hardware is not very durable. The spring came apart with two other hair clips that I had for a brief period of time as well. I am requesting that Amazon pass this info to the company who makes them! The clip is beautiful, but the hardware is cheaply made, and does not last very long.This small Jaw will hold a lot of hair & the onyx design is beautiful but I am returning because the larger size is prettier (although more expensive).I love you Amazon BUT..... I learned that by going directly to the France Luxe site:1) the price is the same2) product is beautifully packaged & wrapped compared to the generic bubble wrap thru Amazon (for a gift)3) same free shipping + free returns4) most important - you get a freebie with every 3 items from their France Luxe site, not from AmazonOnly downside is it took a couple days longer but let's face it - who can't wait for a pretty hair toy?Oddly, this clip worked better after I cut 6 inches off my hair. Before, my hair would slowly slip out of the clip while I was sitting and working on my computer, so it was useless for keeping my hair out of my face on a windy day. Now, it holds all but my bangs securely. I love the color. It goes well with my medium brown hair.
